Happy Thursday, Eagles fans.
Not a bad day, right?
Just as Eagles fans were catching their collective breath from Wednesday's free agency flurry, the Eagles were back at it on Thursday. It started out with a major soccer announcement at Lincoln Financial Field and wrapped up with the biggest NFL news of the day.
The Super Bowl of Soccer
Before the big football news of the day, there was big futbol news. CONCACAF announced that the 2015 Gold Cup Final would be played at Lincoln Financial Field this July, meaning that the entire soccer world will have their eyes on Philadelphia.
Two Free Agents Go Coast To Coast
After the CONCACAF announcement, it was time to get back into free agency. The first move of the day came as cornerback Walter Thurmond III was introduced after agreeing to terms on Wednesday. His press conference was followed by another, courtesy of the newly signed Ryan Mathews, a powerful running back looking to make a big impact in the Eagles backfield.
#NotWaitingForDeMarcoAnymoreBecauseNowHesAnEagle
DeMarco Murray stole all of the headlines of the day. After hours of questions about will he or won't he sign, live looks at his plain landing at the airport and a swarm or reporters greeting him at the NovaCare Complex, the reigning NFL rushing champ put pen to paper and officially became a Philadelphia Eagle.
