For the second straight offseason, running back Darren Sproles has mulled over whether he wants to play or hang up his cleats.
If Sproles decides to give it yet another go in 2019, head coach Doug Pederson said during the NFL Annual Meeting that the team would love to have him back.
"I can't speak for Darren, obviously, and this is his time to make these decisions, but I would love to have Darren back," Pederson said.
Pederson knows firsthand what Sproles is going through, as he had to make the same tough decision at the end of his playing career.
"I get it. I was there once and we'll respect his decision when it comes," Pederson said.
When that decision comes is only up to Sproles. Pederson said Tuesday that the timing of his decision of no concern to the Eagles, as they have full confidence he'll be prepared to play if he decides to return.
Injuries have plagued Sproles' last two seasons with the Eagles, but when he was on the field, he proved that he can still produce in multiple ways, especially during the team's push for the postseason.
