The Eagles announced on Wednesday morning that defensive tackle Antonio Dixon underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair his torn left tricep tendon.
The surgery took place at the Rothman Institute of Philadelphia and was performed by team physicians Dr. Peter DeLuca and Dr. Paul Marchetto.
Dixon suffered the injury during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers. Dixon was tied up with 49ers guard Mike Iupati when he realized that something had happened. The Eagles placed Dixon on the Injured Reserve list Tuesday and signed veteran Derek Landri, who was with the team in the preseason.
The 6-3, 322-pound Dixon had eight tackles and a QB hurry in 2011 and was at his best against the run.
