Albert Okwuegbunam joins the Eagles via trade from the Denver Broncos. In addition to the 6-foot-5, 258-pound tight end, the Eagles received a 2025 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round selection.
Okwuegbunam was a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Missouri. The fourth-year tight end has played 26 games in the NFL with seven of them being starts.
In his rookie season, Okwuegbunam played four games before tearing his ACL. In 2021, he had 33 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns. In eight games last season, he caught 10 passes and one touchdown.
In the 2023 preseason finale, Okwuegbunam had 7 catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.
"Anytime we have an opportunity to add an offensive player that we think can help our team, we look at that; that is the reason we brought him in. This is a guy that not only has traits, but it is hard not to watch that last preseason game and see what it looks like when it looks right," said Eagles Vice President and General Manager Howie Roseman.
