Reinforcements are coming for an Eagles secondary that has limited opponents to a league-low 73.6 passer rating and a 60.3 completion percentage, which is third.
Starting nickel cornerback Avonte Maddox was activated off Injured Reserve, the Eagles announced on Saturday. Maddox was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
"It's been great to be out there all week and getting into the groove of football play and moving like I was before. I feel like I'm ready. I feel good," he said on Friday.
"I didn't feel the hamstring this week, so I'm confident about that. I never had a hamstring injury, so I don't know kind of what to expect. It doesn't hurt, and I feel like I've pushed it to make sure it's tested all the way."
Josiah Scott replaced Maddox in the starting lineup during the stint on Injured Reserve. Maddox has 27 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in his six games (330 snaps on defense).
The Eagles also elevated linebacker Christian Elliss from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Giants. In his season debut last week against the Titans, Elliss sparked the special teams unit with two tackles and a key block on a Britain Covey punt return, plus another three tackles on defense in the latter stages of the game.
