The Eagles announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to trade quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 164 overall).

A former first-round pick, Pickett was traded to the Eagles last offseason from the Pittsburgh Steelers and served as the second-string quarterback throughout the 2024 Super Bowl season.

The 26-year-old completed 25-of-42 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns, including a Week 17 start that earned an NFC East-clinching victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

"Just very professional, wanting to learn new things and continuing to grow his game. I just think he's been great for the room and a great addition to the room," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said before Pickett's first start as an Eagle. "I just feel like he's treated it from day one as, how does he get better every day? Not worrying about the circumstances that he's in, but how does he get better every day? I've seen improvement from the moment he stepped in here."

Thompson-Robinson, a 2023 fifth-round draft pick, started five games in two seasons with the Browns, completing 121-of-230 passes for 880 yards and one touchdown. He added 187 yards on 35 carries as a dual-threat quarterback.

In his final season at UCLA, Thompson-Robinson finished sixth in the nation in completion percentage (.696), setting a school single-season record. He was one of two FBS quarterbacks to throw for as many as 27 touchdown passes and add 12 rushing touchdowns in 2022.

The 25-year-old finished his collegiate career as UCLA's all-time leader in total offense (12,536 – only UCLA player to ever record more than 12,000 yards), completions (860), total touchdowns (116), touchdown passes (88), and passing yards (10,710).

The 2025 fifth-round pick the Eagles received in the deal was originally from the Detroit Lions. – Written by Liam Wichser
