The Eagles announced their first external signing of free agency on Thursday, agreeing to terms with former Packers running back A.J. Dillon on a one-year deal.

Dillon missed the 2024 season with a neck injury, but at 26 years old, he brings some extra power to the Philadelphia running back room which currently consists of Saquon Barkley, Tyrion Davis-Price, Lew Nichols, and Will Shipley.

Here's what you need to know about the former Boston College Eagle, who will now be a Philadelphia Eagle:

  • The 6-foot, 247-pound back ranked second on the Packers with 2,928 yards from scrimmage from 2021-23, posting 50+ yards from scrimmage in 30 games.
  • The former second-round pick of the 2020 NFL Draft appeared in 15 games with six starts during the 2023 season, posting 613 yards and two touchdowns on 178 carries while adding 22 receptions for 223 yards in the passing game.
  • He added 16 touchdowns across four seasons with Green Bay, including a career-best seven rushing touchdowns in 2022 which led the team.
  • He was one of only two running backs in the league (Najee Harris) to rush for 750-plus yards and play in all 17 games in both 2021 and 2022.
  • Was the first Boston College running back to be picked in the first two rounds of the draft since William Green was selected in the first round (No. 16) by the Browns in 2002.
  • Was the first rookie in Packers' history to rush for 120-plus yards and two touchdowns in a game (124 yards and two TDs against Tennessee in Week 16 of 2020 season).
  • Dillon grew up not too far from Philadelphia in Baltimore. – Written by Liam Wichser
