Interestingly enough, the NFL announced on Thursday that one of the rules proposals that is up for debate at May's owners meetings is allowing defensive backs, linebackers, running backs, tight ends, and wide receivers to wear single-digit jersey numbers.
The Eagles have nine jersey numbers that are officially retired:
