For the second straight season, the Eagles-Cowboys regular season finale has been flexed to a 4:15 PM (EST) start time. The Jan. 3, 2010 game will be nationally televised on FOX.
Last year's regular season finale determined the final wild card spot in the NFC playoffs. The Eagles won that game 44-6 at Lincoln Financial Field.
This year's regular season finale could determine the winner of the NFC East. The Eagles improved to 11-4 by virtue of Sunday's 30-27 win over the Denver Broncos. The Cowboys currently lead the Washington Redskins 14-0. If the Cowboys win, they will remain one game behind the Eagles. If the Cowboys beat the Eagles in Week 17, they will win the division by virtue of having won both regular season contests. Should the Cowboys lose to the Redskins tonight, the Eagles will clinch the NFC East title.
UPDATE:The Cowboys beat the Redskins 17-0. Next Sunday's game between the Eagles and the Cowboys will determine the winner of the NFC East. The Eagles can finish as high as the No. 2 seed and as low as the No. 6 seed for the postseason. The only spot the Eagles can not finish is the No. 4 seed.
