Eagles Fill Out Practice Squad

The Eagles announced on Monday night that they have signed safety Chip Vaughn to the practice squad.
Vaughn, a fourth-round draft choice of New Orleans in 2009, was released by the Saints as part of their final roster cut down on Saturday. He spent his entire rookie season on the Injured Reserve list. The 24-year-old Vaughn (6-2, 221) saw action in all four preseason games for the Saints this summer and contributed 12 tackles.

A two-year starter at Wake Forest, Vaughn finished his collegiate career with 257 tackles, three interceptions, 22 passes defensed, one forced fumble and four fumble recoveries. In his senior season of 2008, the Fairfax, VA, native earned first-team All-ACC honors when he had 87 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions.

With the signing of Vaughn, the Eagles eight-man practice squad is set. WR Chad Hall, RB Martell Mallett, G/C Dallas Reynolds, C A.Q. Shipley, and DT Jeff Owens were re-signed by the Eagles on Sunday, while TE Garrett Mills, WR Jeremy Williams and Vaughn were added Monday
