The Eagles released four players on Monday. With the roster now at 81 players, the Eagles have to make one more roster move to get to the league-mandated limit of 80 before Tuesday's deadline.
The players released were wide receiver Gerald Jones, offensive tackle Spencer Johnson, defensive back Jamar Wall and tight end Martell Webb.
Jones made the biggest impact in the preseason with a two-touchdown performance in the fourth quarter of the game against the Steelers. Jones and Webb were originally added as rookie free agents this offseason. Johnson was signed by the Eagles to help with depth during training camp. Wall was signed in 2010 to the Eagles practice squad after he was released by the Houston Texans. Wall played in last year's game against the Minnesota Vikings and finished the season on the practice squad.
Defensive end Brandon Graham and offensive tackle Winston Justice are on the Physically Unable to Perform list, but still count towards the roster. Offensive tackle Jose Acuna (Reserve/Left Squad list) does not count towards the roster.
