Linebacker Tracy White was on hand at the Beverly Hills Middle School in Upper Darby, Pa. on Tuesday evening to hand out $10,000 of football equipment to the YAP (Youth Achieving Project) Trojans Football Program. While White distributed the equipment to the children, the Eagles Cheerleaders spoke to the Trojans' cheerleading squad and SWOOP was on hand to entertain the children as well.
This is the third year that the Eagles and Good Sports have partnered together. This donation allows the YAP Trojans to expand their program and include more kids than ever before. The YAP was founded in 1999 to provide positive activities for young men and women in an area where drugs and crime were commonplace. YAP is dedicated to the educational, physical, emotional and social development of youth in organized sports while serving the communities of Upper Darby, and the Overbrook and West Philadelphia sections of Philadelphia.
Good Sports is a Boston-based non-profit organization that aims to increase youth participation in sports by donating equipment to community organizations serving disadvantaged youth.
