With Danny Amendola being signed by the Rams on Tuesday, the Eagles had an opening on the practice squad. That job opening is now closed. The Eagles signed former Penn State receiver Jordan Norwood on Wednesday morning.
The 5-11, 179-pound rookie free agent spent the preseason with the Cleveland Browns before being released in the final roster cutdown. The 22-year-old Norwood had 158 receptions for 2,015 yards and 13 touchdowns at Penn State. The Honolulu native caught 41 passes for 637 yards and had six touchdowns his senior year.
According to his NFL.com Draft Profile, the scouting report on Norwood is "adequate height and quickness for a slot receiver. Concentration good enough to adjust to high or low balls. Best on crossing and underneath routes from the slot, is willing to go over the middle or up high to make the catch despite his slight frame. Sets up the corner for the skinny post when outside."
