After a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles selected Jihaad Campbell with the 31st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Eagles receive: 2025 Pick No. 31

Chiefs receive: 2025 Pick No. 32 and a 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 164 overall).

"They're a great organization. Very great coaches, great staff that make sure the team has great value so we can win. Win regular-season games, win playoffs, and most importantly win a Super Bowl," Campbell said during his first press conference as an Eagle.

"I'm just ready to be the best version of myself each and every day and compete. Be that dominant force at wherever the coach wants to put me at honestly."

"Really excited to have him. Wasn't really something we anticipated. Understand some of the other teams may have reasons for taking other players, but for us, this was a really easy pick. Really explosive player, he can play inside, he can be an edge rusher – just really feel fortunate to bring him home back to Philadelphia," Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman said.

Campbell (6-3, 245 pounds) comes out of Alabama, where he played 35 games (21 starts), compiling 184 tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss.

Campbell is the first off-ball linebacker to be selected in the first round by the Eagles since Jerry Robinson in 1979.

The Erial, New Jersey native was named to the first-team All-SEC in 2024 after leading the team with 117 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks.

The off-ball linebacker was selected as a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America in 2024.

"We have a lot of confidence this guy's going to be here and play at a really high level for a long time. When you're in a draft that you're picking at the end of the first round and you have an opportunity to get a Top-10 player on your board, a guy who can affect the quarterback, affect the passing game – for us it was a no-brainer. Local kid, great character. So, we're really excited," Roseman said.

"We think he's a versatile player who can do a lot of different things. Obviously, the main thing that you see is the energy that he plays with, the speed that he plays with. When you're playing with that relentless effort that he plays with, that fits our defense," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said.
