The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed G/C Mike Gibson to a two-year contract and C/G Steve Vallos to a one-year contract.
Now in his second stint with the Eagles, Gibson (6-3, 298) spent parts of the past three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He played in the final three games of the 2011 campaign after appearing in 14 contests with eight starts at guard (five at right, three at left) in 2010. He started both postseason games for Seattle at right guard that season as well. The 26-year old was originally a sixth-round draft choice of the Eagles in 2008 and spent that season on the Injured Reserve list with a shoulder injury. He was a member of the Eagles practice squad in 2009 before being signed by Seattle to their active roster and playing in three games. A native of Napa, CA, Gibson was a college teammate of WR DeSean Jackson at California.
Vallos (6-3, 310) spent the previous four seasons with the Cleveland Browns (2010-11) and Seattle Seahawks (2008-09), playing in 40 games (eight starts). Originally a seventh-round draft choice of the Seahawks in 2007, Vallos spent that entire season on the team's practice squad. The 27-year-old Vallos is a native of Boardman, OH and played collegiately at Wake Forest.
