The Eagles announced on Wednesday that they have opened the 21-day practice window for wide receiver Quez Watkins, designating him for return from the Injured Reserve list. He would have been a limited participant if the Eagles held a full practice on Wednesday instead of a walkthrough.
The fourth-year speedster out of Southern Miss has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. In three games this year, Watkins has four catches for 21 yards, while playing 115 snaps on offense.
Philadelphia looks to increase the depth on offense with tight end Dallas Goedert sidelined with a forearm injury. Olamide Zaccheaus has seen an uptick in offensive snaps with Watkins out. At times on Monday night against the Chiefs, the Eagles used 10 personnel with four receivers on the field – A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Julio Jones, and Zaccheaus – with Goedert injured.
A former sixth-round pick, Watkins has 87 receptions for 1,128 yards, and five touchdowns in 43 career regular-season games (22 starts).
