Happy New Year, Eagles fans!

The team announced on Wednesday that they have opened the 21-day practice window for tight end Dallas Goedert. Exactly one month ago, Goedert suffered a knee injury in the win over the Baltimore Ravens and shortly after went on the Injured Reserve list.

In nine games, Goedert has 38 catches for 441 yards (11.6 yards per catch) and two touchdowns this season. A seven-year veteran, Goedert had a career game in the Week 3 win over the Saints when he caught 10 passes for 170 yards, marking the most receiving yards by an Eagles tight end since Pete Retzlaff in 1965.

Since becoming the full-time starter at tight end in 2021, Goedert is sixth among all NFL tight ends in receiving yards (2,565) and third in yards per catch (12.3).

Grant Calcaterra has started at tight end in Goedert's absence. The third-year tight end easily surpassed all of his previous career highs with 22 catches for 288 yards and a touchdown, playing 743 snaps (68%) this season. Calcaterra had a brilliant one-handed catch for 34 yards on third down to spark the offense in Sunday's win over the Cowboys.
