The Philadelphia Eagles opened their 2010 basketball schedule with an 81-65 victory at Schalick High School in Pittsgrove, NJ on Friday night. Making his Eagles debut was wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who poured in seven three-point shots en route to a game-high 29 points. He also dazzled the crowd with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Proceeds from the game benefitted Schalick's athletic deparment.
Fellow wide receiver Jason Avant recorded a triple double (16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists) against a talented Schalick alumni team that featured former Seton Hall guard Paul Gause. Eagles safety Quintin Demps, fresh off a week's worth of philanthropic work in Haiti, contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists, while Todd Herremans provided 10 points and 10 boards. King Dunlap (8 points) and Brent Celek (4) rounded out the scoring.
The Eagles are back on the floor on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, DE at 5:30 pm.
