The Eagles will be without one of the key pieces in the secondary for at least the next four games as the team announced on Monday that cornerback Avonte Maddox is going on Injured Reserve due to a hamstring injury.
The team elevated rookie cornerback Mario Goodrich from the practice squad just for Monday night's game against Washington. Goodrich, a rookie free agent out of Clemson, will make his NFL debut in prime time.
Washington also made some roster moves on Monday, elevating former Eagles linebacker Nate Gerry from the practice squad for tonight. The Commanders did not activate defensive end Chase Young off Injured Reserve, so the former first-round pick will NOT make his season debut tonight.

Maddox was already ruled out by the team on Friday after not practicing all week. Head Coach Nick Sirianni said that Josiah Scott is expected to replace Maddox as the nickel cornerback.
The secondary has been a critical component to the team's 8-0 start with 12 interceptions this season. Maddox has 27 tackles and an interception this season, starting five of the six games that he's played in. He's been on the field for 63 percent of the team's defensive snaps. Maddox will miss the Commanders game, the Colts game, the Packers game, and the Titans game. He will be eligible to come back for the Week 14 showdown with the Giants.
