The Eagles opened up a spot on the active roster Friday when they placed defensive tackle Byron Young on the Injured Reserve list.
The second-year lineman was claimed off waivers by the Eagles from the Las Vegas Raiders on August 29 following the roster cutdown. Young has yet to play in a game for the Eagles this season.
A third-round pick out of Alabama in 2023, the 6-foot-3, 292-pound Young played in six games as a rookie for the Raiders, registering four tackles in 99 defensive snaps.
The Laurel, Mississippi native played in 54 games (26 starts) at Alabama, helping the Crimson Tide win the 2020 National Championship.
The Eagles did not announce any corresponding roster moves at this time. Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (abdomen) and wide receiver Ainias Smith (ankle) are eligible to come off Injured Reserve.
