As Dallas Goedert inches closer to a return to action, another tight end heads to Injured Reserve.
The Eagles announced on Wednesday that they have placed tight end C.J. Uzomah on Injured Reserve.
A 10-year veteran, Uzomah played in seven games for the Eagles this season, starting three of those games. He lined up on offense for 132 snaps (12%).
Originally entering the NFL as a fifth-round pick of the Bengals in 2015 out of Auburn, Uzomah spent seven seasons in Cincinnati before playing for the New York Jets for the past two years. Uzomah's best season came in 2021 with Cincinnati when he caught 49 passes for 491 yards and five touchdowns. He's got 192 career receptions for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns in 118 career games (89 starts), including playoffs.
With Uzomah on Injured Reserve, the Eagles currently have Grant Calcaterra and E.J. Jenkins on the active roster. The Eagles could use the open roster spot to activate Goedert from Injured Reserve if he's ready.
Saquon Barkley may not have known about the hat and T-shirt game prior to Sunday's NFC East-clinching triumph over the Dallas Cowboys. Well, now he does. Go inside the winning locker room at Lincoln Financial Field.
