Wide receiver Bryce Treggs was released by the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday. Two days later, he returned to Philadelphia as the Eagles re-signed him to the practice squad.
Treggs was originally claimed off waivers by the Eagles after the final roster cutdown in 2016. The 6-0, 185-pound Treggs had three catches for 80 yards in nine games. In his NFL debut at MetLife Stadium, Treggs hauled in a 58-yard catch to finish with two grabs for 69 yards.
He was on the Eagles' practice squad at the start of this campaign but was signed to the Browns' active roster. In six games for Cleveland, he recorded five receptions for 79 yards.
Treggs played in 45 games (33 starts) at Cal and finished his college career tied for third in school history with 195 receptions and ranked fourth with 2,506 yards. He signed with the 49ers as a rookie free agent following the draft.
To make room on the practice squad, the Eagles released wide receiver Rashard Davis.
