The Eagles made a roster move just after the trade deadline on Tuesday, releasing tight end Albert Okwuegbunam.
The fifth-year player had not suited up in 2024 as he was on Injured Reserve; Designated for Return at the end of the preseason with an abdomen injury. The Eagles opened up Okwuegbunam's 21-day practice window on October 16.
Okwuegbunam was originally acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Denver Broncos at the end of the 2023 preseason. He suited up for the Eagles in four games last season, playing 57 snaps on offense.
Drafted by the Broncos in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Missouri, Okwuegbunam caught 54 passes for 546 yards and four touchdowns during his three seasons in Denver. At the NFL Scouting Combine prior to the 2020 NFL Draft, the 6-5, 258-pound Okwuegbunam turned heads with a 4.49-second 40-yard dash, which at the time was the fourth-fastest time by a tight end since 2003.

Jenkins was elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's win over Jacksonville. Veteran C.J. Uzoman is also on the practice squad along with Jenkins.
