Eagles release Devin White

Eagles release Devin White

The Eagles released linebacker Devin White on Tuesday.

Signed by the team to a one-year deal in free agency, White was inactive in each of the first four games of the season. After working with the first-team unit throughout Training Camp, White lost out on the starting job to Nakobe Dean.

"I just think from the start of Training Camp to the end, he won the job," Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said last month.

White is a former second-team All-Pro and Super Bowl Champion from his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 26-year-old White was the fifth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft out of LSU.

The Eagles now have five off-ball linebackers on the roster as they prepare for Sunday's matchup against the Cleveland Browns. The team did not announce any corresponding roster moves. On Monday, the Eagles opened the practice windows for safety Sydney Brown and wide receiver Ainias Smith.

The Eagles are back from the bye week with an eye on getting a win Sunday when the Cleveland Browns come to town for a 1 PM showdown at Lincoln Financial Field. Check out these exclusive images from the team's walkthrough on Monday and stay tuned for more later in the week.
