The Eagles released four players Thursday: linebacker Ryan Rau, wide receiver Ronald Johnson, linebacker Marcus Dowtin and cornerback Chris Hawkins.
Rau originally joined the Eagles as a tryout player last spring before earning a spot on the practice squad and eventually a late-season promotion to the active roster.
Johnson was placed on injured reserve after suffering a dislocated ankle during Training Camp last summer.
Dowtin finished the season on the practice squad and was signed to a futures contract following the end of the season.
Hawkins was signed in January, prior to the hiring of head coach Chip Kelly.
There are now 75 players on the current roster.
