The Eagles made three transactions on Wednesday:

Signed WR Britain Covey to the active roster

Just like in his rookie season, Britain Covey started the year on the practice squad and earned his way to the active roster.

Covey has returned three punts for 32 yards this season, good for a 10.7-yard average (fourth in the NFC). A year ago, Covey was second in the NFL among rookies in punt return yardage (362) and third in average (9.3 yards per return).

Placed CB Avonte Maddox on Injured Reserve

To make room for Covey, the Eagles placed cornerback Avonte Maddox on Injured Reserve. Head Coach Nick Sirianni acknowledged on Monday that Maddox would be "out for a little bit." Now, it's at least four games.

"We feel like we have good options in-house to be able to move forward," Sirianni said. "That's why we cross-train people, whether that's a corner, whether that's a safety, whether that's the guys that play nickel. So, we feel like we have good options there. Are we going to miss Avonte? Of course we are. He's a great football player who has made a lot of plays here. I thought he was playing really good football, really being aggressive. (He) caused that fumble (against Minnesota), made some really good plays on the perimeter, so we'll miss his contributions both as a teammate and on the field. We like some of our options."

Signed RB Bryant Koback to the practice squad

The 6-foot, 210-pound running back was originally signed by the Vikings as a rookie free agent out of Toledo in 2022. He spent his rookie season on the Vikings' practice squad and joined the Seahawks for 2023 Training Camp. In the 2023 preseason opener, Koback rushed for 32 yards on six carries while gaining 43 yards on three receptions.

At Toledo, Koback rushed for 4,026 yards while scoring 45 touchdowns and averaging 5.9 yards per rush. He gained 1,400 yards on the ground in his final season, finishing second in the MAC.
