The Eagles announced a pair of roster moves on Thursday ahead of their Week 6 clash with the Jets.
Signed punter Braden Mann to the active roster
After spending the last three weeks as a practice squad elevation on gamedays, punter Braden Mann has been signed to the 53-man roster.
In three games with the team, Mann has punted five times for 208 yards at an average of 41.6 yards per punt. His longest punt of the season came in the Week 4 victory over the Washington Commanders, a 48 yarder. He only punted once in last Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams, pinning the returner inside the 20-yard line.
Mann was with this week's opponent, the New York Jets, for the previous three seasons. After a brief stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the preseason, the four-year punter signed with Philadelphia's practice squad on September 18.
The Texas A&M alumnus has punted 211 times in his career for 9,570 yards, averaging 45.4 yards per punt.
Signed linebacker Brandon Smith to the practice squad
Linebacker Brandon Smith joins the practice squad from free agency.
The former Penn State Nittany Lion was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
In his rookie season, the 6-foot-3, 241-pound Smith appeared in 12 games, primarily playing on special teams. He finished the year with eight tackles after suffering a season-ending ankle injury.
Smith was waived by the Panthers on August 29, 2023. – Written by Owen Boyle
