The Eagles made several roster moves on Tuesday:
• Signed cornerback Craig James to the practice squad
The Jets signed safety Elijah Riley to their active roster opening the spot for James. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound James was the Eagles' special teams captain in 2020. He's played in 18 games with one start for the Eagles between 2019-20, registering 14 tackles on special teams in that time. James' career moment came in 2019 at Green Bay when he tipped a pass that was intercepted to seal the win. It was just the third defensive snap as a pro.
• Waived cornerback Mac McCain from the active roster
The rookie out of North Carolina A&T played in one game for the Eagles this season. Originally signed by the Broncos as a rookie free agent following the 2021 NFL Draft, the Eagles signed him off the Broncos' practice squad before the season opener.
• Announced Week 10 practice squad protections
The Eagles protected three players on the practice squad from being signed by other teams: tackle Le'Raven Clark, wide receiver John Hightower, and defensive back Jared Mayden.
