The Eagles continue to tweak the roster ahead of Thursday night's preseason finale against the New York Jets, with the signing of safety Jason Thompson on Tuesday evening. To make room for him on the roster, the Eagles waived Tre Sullivan.
Thompson spent the summer with the Atlanta Falcons. Prior to his time in Atlanta, he was a part of the Green Bay Packers, but has not seen any action in an NFL regular-season game to date.
The 25-year-old signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and has also spent time with the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, and Dallas Cowboys. The 6-2, 210-pound Utah product was a former quarterback who transitioned to safety in college.
