The Eagles signed safety Obi Melifonwu and wide receiver Andre Patton on Thursday.
S Obi Melifonwu
Obi Melifonwu is a former Raider and Patriot. The 27-year-old played in seven games. In 2017, Melifonwu was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round. Melifonwu had success playing football at UConn where in his last year he was named first-team All-American Athletic Conference and had a team-high of 128 tackles. Melifonwu measures in at 6-foot-4 and 224 pounds. Melifonwu participated in the 2021 Eagles' Rookie Camp on a tryout basis.
WR Andre Patton
Andre Patton makes his way to Philadelphia after being on the Miami Dolphins' practice squad in 2020. The 27-year-old grew up about 25 miles outside of Philly in Wilmington, Delaware. In 2019, the 6-foot-4 receiver was with the Los Angeles Chargers where he played in 13 games. He was targeted 17 times and caught six passes for 56 yards. Patton signed with the Chargers in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. Patton played college football at Rutgers University.
