The Eagles had an open spot on the 53-man roster and filled it on Saturday by signing wide receiver Parris Campbell off of the practice squad. In addition, the Eagles elevated offensive lineman Jack Driscoll from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Campbell (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) has already been elevated from the practice squad three times this season. In those three games, Campbell contributed six catches for 30 yards and a touchdown in 99 offensive snaps. A former second-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts, where he played for then-Offensive Coordinator Nick Sirianni, Campbell posted 97 receptions for 983 yards and five touchdowns in 32 games (24 starts) over the course of four seasons. Campbell spent the 2023 season with the New York Giants, where he had 20 receptions for 104 yards.
Campbell provides speed and depth as Britain Covey remains on Injured Reserve.
After Campbell was released by the Eagles at the end of the preseason, he initially did not want to sign back to the practice squad, but Sirianni convinced him to stay. Now, Campbell is on the active roster.
"Parris has done some really good things. I've seen Parris make plays for a long time in this league," Sirianni said Friday. "He plays with relentless effort. He plays physical. He plays tough. And when he's gotten opportunities – I think he has (six) targets and (six) catches ... so he's taking advantage of the opportunities he's gotten. And he's fast, so he helps there."
Driscoll (6-foot-5, 312 pounds) was a fourth-round pick of the Eagles in 2020 out of Auburn. In four seasons with the Eagles, Driscoll played in 54 games. A versatile lineman, Driscoll has 17 career starts between left tackle, right guard, and right tackle. He signed in free agency with the Dolphins in the 2024 offseason, but returned to the Eagles on the practice squad on September 8. Driscoll is in line to make his season debut.
With Campbell going to the active roster, it will be at least another week before safety Sydney Brown (Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform) and wide receiver Ainias Smith (Injured Reserve; Designated for Return) are activated. Both players had their practice windows opened this week and were full participants in the preparation for Sunday's game against the Browns.
The Browns announced their gameday roster moves as well. Cleveland activated linebacker Mohamoud Diabate (Injured Reserve), defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. (Exempt/Commissioner permission), and defensive tackle Maurice Hurst (Injured Reserve).
Red and white stripes? No, the Eagles don't have a new throwback uniform. The Eagles are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House. The players sported special striped jerseys at their Saturday walkthrough. Check out these exclusive photos.
