Due to Kevin Kolb's MCL sprain which will sideline him for tomorrow's preseason opener against the Patriots, the Eagles have added former Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele. He will participate in this morning's walkthrough and play in Thursday's game as the No. 3 quarterback. DiMichele was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Eagles and he took part in almost all of the spring practices before being released on June 11. Andy Reid will announce shortly just exactly how long the first-teamers, second-teamers and so on play.
A three-year starter at Temple, DiMichele threw for 5,024 yards, finishing fourth on the Owls' all-time list, adding 45 touchdowns (40 pass, 5 rush). A two-time captain and team MVP, DiMichele was one of the most accomplished high school athletes in the history of Pennsylvania, earning first-team All-State honors in three sports, while being cited as the state Player of the Year in both football and basketball at Sto-Rox HS in McKees Rocks.
