Gruden's Bengals were eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday in a loss to the Houston Texans. The Bengals offense finished 22nd in total offense and 12th in points per game in 2012.
Gruden, 45, has been the Bengals' offensive coordinator for the last two seasons, during which he's helped develop second-year quarterback Andy Dalton. He has head coaching experience from his time in the Arena Football League, where he won two championships. He also served as an assistant on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' coaching staff from 2002-2008.
The Eagles reportedly requested permission to interview Gruden over the weekend and have finally been granted the opportunity, according to Les Bowen. The Eagles confirmed the report. Gruden is also reportedly set to interview with the Arizona Cardinals for their head coaching vacancy.
The Eagles are also scheduled to meet with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley later this week.
