Eagles vs. Cowboys Injury Report

The Eagles announced on Saturday that linebacker (and fullback) Ben VanSumeren has been upgraded from questionable to no game status for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

VanSumeren suffered a concussion during last Sunday's win over the Jaguars. He was a limited participant in Thursday's practice and a full participant on Friday, but was initially listed on the final injury report as questionable as he had to be cleared from concussion protocol.

With this announcement, the Eagles will have everyone on the 53-man active roster available against the Cowboys.

The Eagles travel to Dallas on Saturday afternoon. The team has yet to announce its gameday roster moves/practice squad elevations (if any) for Sunday.

The Eagles are in good shape from an injury standpoint heading into Sunday's NFC East showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

Every Eagle not only practiced on Friday but was a full participant.

The only game status designation the Eagles have is for linebacker Ben Van Sumeren, who is questionable with the concussion he suffered last Sunday against the Jaguars.

Darius Slay is back after missing a game due to injury.
Darius Slay is back after missing a game due to injury.

This means:

• Wide receiver A.J. Brown, who exited Sunday's win with a knee injury, is good to go.

• Tight end Dallas Goedert, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, is good to go.

• Wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who would have missed Wednesday's practice – the Eagles held a walkthrough – with a hamstring injury, is good to go.

• Outside linebacker Nolan Smith, who also would have missed Wednesday's practice with a groin injury, is good to go.

• Cornerback Darius Slay, who missed the win over the Jaguars with a groin injury, is, yes, good to go.

QUESTIONABLE

• LB Ben VanSumeren (Concussion, Full Participant on Friday)

Micah Parsons is questionable for the Cowboys

The injury report is not as pristine for the Cowboys.

No surprise as quarterback Dak Prescott is out with the hamstring injury that he suffered in last Sunday's loss to the Falcons. Cooper Rush, who played the entire fourth quarter, will start for Dallas.

Rush will have his All-Pro right guard in Zack Martin, who was a full participant in Friday's practice after dealing with a shoulder injury that sidelined him on Wednesday and Thursday. Rush will also have his top receiving target in wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who also practiced in full on Friday after being limited earlier in the week with a shoulder injury.

All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland, who has not played this season with a foot injury, remains out. Rookie Caelan Carson, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, has started outside at cornerback opposite of Trevon Diggs.

Backup safety Juanyeh Thomas is also out with a concussion.

Five other Cowboys are listed as questionable.

Diggs, who has played despite a nagging calf injury, did not practice today as he was also listed with an illness.

Starting left tackle Tyler Guyton has been limited all week with neck and shoulder injuries.

Starting middle linebacker Eric Kendricks has been limited in practice this week as well with a shoulder injury.

All-Pro defensive end Micah Parsons, who has missed four games with an ankle injury, is on track to return but remains questionable. He was limited in practice all week.

Linebacker Nick Vigil is also questionable despite not practicing all week with a foot injury.

Every Eagle practiced in some capacity on Thursday.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and linebacker Nolan Smith (groin) would not have practiced on Wednesday, as the team held a walkthrough, but were limited participants on Thursday.

Offensive tackle Fred Johnson (knee) and linebacker Ben VanSumeren (concussion) were also limited on Thursday. VanSumeren would not have practiced on Wednesday along with the Smiths.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown (knee) and tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) both practiced fully on Thursday. Brown exited Sunday's win over the Jaguars, while Goedert has missed the last three games due to injury.

Dallas Goedert
Dallas Goedert

He's out there "with the guys" again, and that makes tight end Dallas Goedert smile. After missing three games following his hamstring injury suffered early in the win over Cleveland, Goedert returned to the practice field on Wednesday at the NovaCare Complex ready to go.

With a huge smile on his face.

"It was a lot of fun getting out there, just being in the huddle. It feels real good," said Goedert, who has 24 catches for 301 yards this season. "The soft-tissue injuries, you just have to make sure you give it enough time. I was doing everything I could to get back as fast as I could, but I like where I'm at now. It feels good and looking forward to attacking it the rest of the way."

It is unclear if Goedert will play on Sunday in Dallas, but he's clearly aiming for a return then. Goedert has stayed sharp in his time away as the offense has taken flight, scoring 28 points, 37 points, and 28 points in the three full games he missed (Goedert was injured three plays into the 20-16 victory over Cleveland).

"It's always frustrating, but you've just got to take what comes to you," he said. "I never want to be injured, but you've just got to make sure you keep a positive attitude and when you get back, you are in the best shape you can be in, you've been paying attention in meetings, so you know all the little nuances of things we've changed over the few weeks. For me, it's just looking forward to the day I get to go back, that keeps me motivated, keeps me positive."

The Eagles held a walkthrough on Wednesday, but if the team had held a practice, Goedert would have been a full participant.

Three Eagles would not have participated in a full practice – wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring), linebacker Nolan Smith (groin), and linebacker Ben VanSumeren (concussion).

• WR Ainias Smith (Ankle)
• OLB Josh Sweat (Hip)
• LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (Hip)

FULL PARTICIPATION

• TE Dallas Goedert (Hamstring)

*Reminder that the Eagles held a walkthrough on Wednesday. The injury report is an estimation.

Micah Parsons on track to return vs. Eagles

Micah Parsons was limited in his return to practice Wednesday, as the All-Pro linebacker has missed the last five games with an ankle injury. If all goes according to the team's plans, Parsons, who still leads the Cowboys with 21 QB pressures, will play against the Eagles.

Quarterback Dak Prescott could go on Injured Reserve any day now with the hamstring injury he incurred Sunday against Atlanta. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was a limited participant with a shoulder injury that he suffered against the Falcons.

All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland was activated off Injured Reserve, but he is still not practicing with a foot injury that has sidelined him all season. Bland's counterpart, Trevon Diggs, was limited by a calf injury on Wednesday. Diggs missed practice all last week leading into the Falcons game, but played on gameday.

All-Pro guard Zack Martin has battled through a litany of injuries this season despite suiting up for every game. Martin did not participate in Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder injury.

Starting middle linebacker Eric Kendricks did not practice due to a lingering shoulder injury that kept him out of some practices in recent weeks.

Defensive back Juanyeh Thomas (concussion) and outside linebacker Nick Vigil (foot) not practice on Wednesday.
