The Eagles ruled out wide receiver Nelson Agholor (knee) and tight end Zach Ertz (back, ribs) on Friday, but listed tackle Lane Johnson (ankle) and cornerback Jalen Mills (ankle) as questionable.
Unfortunately, neither will suit up against the Eagles as both players are inactive.
The Eagles do get running back Jordan Howard in the lineup for the first time since the Week 9 win over the Bears. Howard suffered a shoulder injury and was cleared on Thursday. Head coach Doug Pederson said this past week that Howard will still be the No. 3 back behind Miles Sanders, who is the sixth captain, and Boston Scott.
Here is a complete look at the Eagles' inactives:
WR Nelson Agholor: Nelson Agholor will be out for the fifth time in six games with a knee injury. The Eagles promoted Deontay Burnett from the practice squad to the active roster this week to give them four available wide receivers: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Burnett, Robert Davis, and Greg Ward. In previous weeks, the Eagles could simply feature more 12 personnel (two tight end sets), but ...
TE Zach Ertz: Zach Ertz suffered back and ribs injuries in last Sunday's win over Dallas. Ertz was hurt in the first quarter, but returned to finish the game. Ertz was critical to the Eagles' overtime win over the Giants on December 9 when he had the game-tying and game-winning touchdown receptions.
This will be the first game Ertz misses due to injury since December 10, 2017 against the Los Angeles Rams. Ertz's streak of 34 consecutive starts, the second-longest in the league among tight ends, will come to an end. Tight end Dallas Goedert stepped up with Ertz ailing last Sunday catching nine receptions for 91 yards, both career highs, and a touchdown. The Eagles have Joshua Perkins and signed veteran Richard Rodgers this week to add depth at tight end.
T Lane Johnson: The All-Pro tackle is out with an ankle injury that he incurred in the Week 14 win over the Giants. Halapoulivaati Vaitai starts at right tackle. Nate Herbig and Matt Pryor are active as additional reserve linemen.
DE Shareef Miller: The rookie has not been active since he made his NFL debut in the October 27 win over Buffalo.
CB Jalen Mills: Jalen Mills suffered an ankle injury last Sunday against the Cowboys, but came back to the game. Don't forget that the other starting cornerback Ronald Darby was placed on Injured Reserve this week with a hip flexor injury. Pederson said that Douglas was in line to start for Darby. Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox could start opposite Douglas. Cre'Von LeBlanc could move into the slot if Maddox plays on the outside.
G Sua Opeta: The rookie free agent was promoted to the active roster on December 3, but has not yet been active for a regular-season game.
QB Nate Sudfeld: The Eagles will go with two active quarterbacks in Carson Wentz and Josh McCown.
The Giants are without starting right tackle Mike Remmers due to a concussion as well as cornerback Sam Beal due to a shoulder injury. Beal was questionable heading into today's game. Nick Gates is slated to start at right tackle. Antonio Hamilton is expected to start in Beal's place at cornerback.
