The Philadelphia Eagles are excited to announce a sustainability partnership with West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., a global manufacturer in the design and production of technologically advanced, high-quality, integrated containment and delivery systems for injectable medicines. This is part of a strategic approach by both organizations to promote environmental benefits, building on their established, long-standing commitment to sustainability and community development programs.
The most visible and prominent aspect of the new partnership will be the deployment of West's Field Goal Forest. The Eagles and West will plant 20 trees for each successful field goal throughout the season. The team will also collaborate on an annual tree planting event at the end of the season.
"It's a privilege to team up with West Pharmaceutical Services - a company that shares a passion for giving back to the community and creating more sustainable solutions for our environment," said Brian Napoli, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Philadelphia Eagles. "We admire the work West has been doing as a sustainability leader in the healthcare industry and look forward to working alongside them to enhance the impact of our Go Green program."
"Sustainability is a key pillar of who we are and what we stand for," said Norman Vossschulte, Director of Fan Experience and Sustainability, Philadelphia Eagles. "We are always searching for innovative ways to impact our community and environment through our team's on-field performance. This partnership with West allows us to do just that."
"West is excited to work alongside the Philadelphia Eagles who are internationally recognized as environmental stewards across all areas of their business," said Eric M. Green, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors, West. "At West, caring for our environment is inherent in all we do and ensuring that we use resources in a sustainable manner to contribute to healthier communities for a better world today and for the next generation."
The Eagles’ Go Green program has been internationally recognized for its commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly measures. The team has earned LEED Gold status by the U.S. Green Building Council and STAR accreditation by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council, is ISO 20121 certified, and recently became the first U.S. professional sports team to offset team travel emissions through the support of Ocean Conservancy's Blue Playbook.
