Head coach Andy Reid has spoken at length about how rookie Jeremy Maclin will be impacted by the time that he has missed at training camp. It is 11 practices and counting after Sunday morning's workout. But we heard for the first time what special teams coordinator Ted Daisher thought of the missed time. Maclin's biggest impact is expected to be on special teams this season as a punt returner. Daisher said on Sunday that DeSean Jackson will remain the primary punt returner right now and that he can only worry about the players that are here.
"You can only coach the guys that are here. The guys that are here are working and doing a good job. We have quality returners here. We have Quintin Demps and we have Ellis Hobbs and we have DeSean Jackson. We'll work (Maclin) in when he gets here."
But Daisher was happy with the progress Maclin made during the Organized Team Activities prior to training camp.
"I thought he did a good job this spring in the OTAs. He's making progress. He's gotten better. That contract thing will work itself out and when it does he'll be here. We'll just coach him up. The other guys are doing a good job."
