The Atlanta Falcons have undergone a special teams' makeover in advance of this Sunday's game against the Eagles. Today, they released long snapper Bryan Pittman and kicker Jason Elam and replaced them with kicker Matt Bryant and long snapper Joe Zelenka.
Bryant, who Eagles' fans are all too familiar with, has spent most of the season playing in the UFL. Last year, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he hit 32 of 38 field goal attempts.
On October 22, 2006, Bryant's 62-yard game-winning field goal beat the Eagles as time expired. On his career, he is 136 for 168 on field goals (82 percent).
Elam had missed as least one kick in each of the last five Falcons' games.
Zelenka is an 11-year veteran who set a Jaguars' team record with 128 consecutive games played, but was released at the start of the 2009 season. He will be the Falcons' third long snapper of the season.
