Family Matters: Scouting The Other Jets CB

There has been a lot of discussion this week regarding whom Jets All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis would cover.

But it's not like the other starting cornerback is a slouch.

Antonio Cromartie also earned All-Pro honors back in 2007 as a member of the San Diego Chargers when he led the league with a career-high 10 interceptions. The 6-2, 210-pound Cromartie has six interceptions in his nearly two seasons as a member of the Jets. If the Eagles need a scouting report on Cromartie, they need to look no farther than their own Cromartie, Antonio's first cousin, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

"He's a guy that wants to press, get his hands on you," Rodgers-Cromartie said. "He uses his speed to his advantage. He has some great ball skills. He can find the ball and get it out of the air."

According to Stats Inc., Cromartie has been targeted the same exact amount of times this season as his counterpart who has an island named after him. Teams have attempted 73 passes towards Cromartie and have completed 31 of them for 436 yards and three touchdowns in 2011.

Rodgers-Cromartie said that he and his cousin first met about five years ago and their relationship has grown since the two first met. There has been no contact between the two in the week leading up to the game, Rodgers-Cromartie said. Both known for their speed, Rodgers-Cromartie is willing to concede that his cousin was once faster but now ...

"I think I am now, but coming out (of college) he probably was," he said.
