The addition of Michael Vick to the Eagles roster has led to speculation that backup quarterback A.J. Feeley might be a player for whom the Eagles can receive something in a trade. Of course, any time rumors persist about a player, he's likely to hear about it.
"Right now, they're just rumors," Feeley said. "My loyalty's here and I'm an Eagle.
"It's not frustrating; it's the nature of playing professional football. I've been in this situation before, and I guess you can say my past experiences have helped me develop the mindset I have now. And that is, there are certain things you can't control and you have to make the most playing."
Feeley was traded from the Eagles to the Dolphins in 2004 for a second-round pick. He returned to Philadelphia two seasons later in 2006.
"My heart will always be real fond of Philadelphia because that's where I got my start," Feeley said of the possibility of moving to a new team.
Feeley believes he still has a bright future in the NFL.
"I consider myself a young guy still, with a lot of football left," he said. "That's my approach.
"You want to play. I'm not complacent where I'm at. You want to play and be the guy, but at the end of the day it's still a team game and you do what's best for the team."
Feeley said he has no hard feelings about the Eagles acquisition of Vick.
"It's an addition to the team that will definitely help out," he said. "You can't dismiss what Michael Vick brings to a team."
