The Eagles are saddened to learn of the death of former center Ken Farragut, who passed away of complications of diabetes on Sunday morning in Lafayette Hill, Pa. Mr. Farragut was 85 years old.
Selected in the sixth round of the 1951 NFL Draft after starring collegiately at the University of Mississippi, Mr. Farragut played for the Eagles from 1951-54 and earned Pro Bowl recognition in 1953. He was selected to the University of Mississippi Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 1992. Mr. Farragut was the recipient of the NFL Alumni Career Achievement Award in 1992.
Mr. Farragut is survived by his wife, Jane, his daughter, Debbie, sons David and Danny along with eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will hold a viewing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Messiah Methodist Church on Ridge Pike in Lafayette Hill, Pa.
