On whether the team is expecting a lot out of you:"I felt great out there. I played good. It's not just myself. It was the whole defense. Guys were goin' out there makin' plays and it just felt good to get this first one out of the way."

On gaining confidence:"Yeah, definitely. We just went out and executed. We didn't know exactly what they would do. We had an idea, but the first game of the season you don't know what a team will do so you want to go out there and play hard football and we did that today."

On his fumble recovery:"I'm not a flashy guy. Trent made a heck of a play and I was just there to scoop and score. The ball was just sitting there and I just picked it up."

On how big was that play: "It was huge. Not just that play but I think the guys, the front four with the blitzes and the linebackers coming through. We just played."

What about the first drive? "I mean we don't want anybody to score on us. Especially the new 2009 defense. We wanted to come out and establish ourselves as a new defense. We don't want to get scored on no matter what. Whether they're at the 20 or 25 or if we're down by a lot we don't want anybody scoring on us."
