Brown: "I play the game. I don't play the game to be dirty. I don't play the game to hurt people. I just play through the whistle, and the league will probably see it that way."

Brown: "If he pumps the ball and I stop, then he scrambles, I mean, am I letting my teammates down because I'm not playing hard? Or when a coach watches the film and I pull up, am I letting my coaches down? So it's a happy medium. You have to play and let the rest take care of itself."

Brown: "I believe in protecting the quarterback. I do believe in that. And I do believe in protecting players. But when it's crunch time, this situation is almost like a basketball game where they let the tick-tack foul go and they let the players determine it."*
