EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- There was a hope that his injured hamstring wouldn't be enough to keep DeMarco Murray from suiting up for the Eagles' Week 3 meeting with the Jets, but when Philadelphia takes the field at MetLife Stadium the All-Pro running back will be in street clothes. Joining Murray on the inactive list will be three other Eagles starters – wide receiver Josh Huff (hamstring), inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) and defensive end Cedric Thornton (hand).

In place of Murray, expect Philadelphia to use a combination of Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles, who have combined for 50 yards on 10 carries through two games. With Huff out of the receiver rotation, rookie Nelson Agholor could see more snaps. It remains to be seen who will handle kickoff return duties in Huff's absence.

On the defensive side of the ball, rookie Jordan Hicks will notch his first career start in place of Kendricks and the injured Kiko Alonso (knee). Hicks tallied seven tackles, including a sack, against the Cowboys last week. With Thornton and reserve end Taylor Hart (shoulder) both unavailable against the Jets, Brandon Bair will get the starting nod for the first time in his career. The veteran lineman appeared in 16 games for the Eagles last season but was inactive for each of the team's first two games this year.

Joining Murray, Huff, Kendricks, Thornton, Alonso, and Hicks on the inactive list will be quarterback Thad Lewis, who was signed by Philadelphia on Monday. Offensive linemen Dennis Kelly, cornerback Denzel Rice and linebacker Marcus Smith are active due to the injuries.

For the Jets, wide receivers Eric Decker and Chris Owusu, cornerback Darrin Walls, linebacker Trevor Reilly, offensive linemen Jarvis Harrison and Ben Ijalana and defensive tackle Deon Simon are inactive. Rookie wide receiver Devin Smith will be active for the first time in his career and could play a factor in this game due to the injuries at the position.
