Pro Bowl playmaker DeSean Jackspon has been named the NFC Special Teams player of the month for December. It marks the second time this season he has won the award (he also won it in September) and his fifth award total (3 weekly awards).
After missing the first game of the month, Jackson returned in a big way the following week on a prime-time stage at the Meadowlands. Jackson broke off a 72-yard punt return for a touchdown. The score was his second punt return for a touchdown on the season.
Jackson led the NFL with a 15.2-yard punt return average, which is also the fourth-highest average for a single season in team history. His two punt returns for touchdowns tied Brian Westbrook for the most all time in Eagles history for a single-season.
Jackson became the first player in NFL history to earn Pro Bowl honors at two positions (kick returner and wide receiver) in 2009.
