The Philadelphia Eagles today announced that former tight end Keith Jackson will serve as the team's honorary alumni captain this Sunday (11/17) against the Washington Redskins. There will be a tribute to the five-time Pro Bowler at halftime on the Miller Lite Flight Deck.
A first-round draft pick (13th overall) of the Eagles in 1988, Jackson played nine seasons in the NFL and registered 5,283 receiving yards on 441 receptions, and 49 touchdowns. In four seasons with the Eagles from 1988-91, he totaled 242 receptions, 2,756 yards and 20 touchdowns. Jackson burst onto the scene as a rookie as he went on to finish sixth in the league in receptions (81) en route to his first of three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and three first-team All-Pro nods in Philadelphia. His 81 receptions in 1988 currently stands as the single-season all-time high for tight ends in franchise history.
A native of Little Rock, Ark., Jackson is deeply involved in his charity, P.A.R.K., which provides opportunities for "high-risk" students and helps to ensure graduation from high school.
