An Eagles team that was outstanding in 2013 in the ball security department coughed up two early on Sunday against Jacksonville, and the mistakes ultimately cost Philadelphia a pair of touchdowns.
On the first offensive possession for the Eagles, Nick Foles was sacked by defensive end Chris Clemons, who beat left tackle Jason Peters, and lost the football. Defensive end Ryan Davis recovered for Jacksonville at the Eagles 44-yard line early in the first quarter.
Four plays later, Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne found rookie wide receiver Allen Hurns open against cornerback Cary Williams for a 34-yard touchdown pass and Jacksonville led 7-0.
Foles was sacked on the second possession by defensive end Andre Branch and fumbled away the ball again and Jacksonville recovered at the Eagles 21-yard line.
A couple of plays later, Henne went to Hurns again on the right side for a 21-yard touchdown to give the Jags at 14-0 lead with 6:50 to go in the first quarter.
