Restricted free agent linebacker Akeem Jordan, whom the Eagles tendered at the compensation level of a second-round draft pick, has signed his contract, the team announced on Monday afternoon.
Jordan finished third on the team in tackles last year despite playing in only 12 games. A knee injury kept him out of four games midway through the year and the Eagles' defense took a step backward when he was out.
Jordan, signed as a non-drafted rookie from James Madison, figures to compete for the starting job at the WILL linebacker spot this year with Omar Gaither. In three Eagles seasons, he has played in 37 games, starting 17.
