The Philadelphia Eagles announced today that linebacker Phillip Hunt underwent surgery to repair a partial tear of the ACL in his left knee.
Hunt was signed by the Eagles as a free agent in 2011 after two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He led the CFL in sacks, with 16.0, in 2010. Hunt is a Fort Worth, Texas, native who starred collegiately at the University of Houston, where he won 2008 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors after registering 14.0 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss.
Hunt has played 22 games for the Eagles, recording 23 total tackles and 3.0 sacks.
