Some good news on the Eagles' injury front for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
Tight end Dallas Goedert is active. He was questionable with a calf injury that he re-aggravated in pre-game warmups last Sunday against Atlanta. How much he plays remains to be seen. The Eagles promoted Alex Ellis from the practice squad this week for insurance.
The Eagles, however, will be without wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who was also questionable with a calf injury suffered against the Falcons. The Eagles won't have two of their top three wideouts as DeSean Jackson (abdomen) is also out.
J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins can play on the outside, while Nelson Agholor remains in the slot. Greg Ward was called up from the practice squad on Saturday and he is active for his first NFL regular-season game, giving the Eagles four receivers.
Running back Corey Clement (shoulder) and defensive tackle Tim Jernigan (foot) were declared out on Friday due to injury. Miles Sanders is in line to return kickoffs, while Hassan Ridgeway will start at defensive tackle alongside Fletcher Cox.
Linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) will miss another game, but did return to practice in a limited capacity this week.
Defensive end Shareef Miller and guard/center Nate Herbig are also inactive. Defensive end Daeshon Hall and guard/tackle Matt Pryor are active for the first time this season.
Quarterback Nate Sudfeld is also active for the first time this season after fracturing the wrist on his non-throwing hand in the preseason opener back on August 8.
Two notable actives for the Lions. Starting middle linebacker Jarrad Davis will make his season debut after missing the first two games with an ankle injury. Starting left tackle Taylor Decker will start after missing last week's game against the Chargers with a back injury.
